Massachusetts Lathe [MTC_700]
This is a vintage lathe made by the Massachusetts Tool Co. (later examples were sold under the name Goodell-Pratt)
Originally sold as " Precision Model Lathe - Assortment No. 1'
Most of the original set is still contained in its hardwood case but its equipment has been supplemented by items from a number of other manufacturers to extend its capabilities:
- Compound slide rest (from a Super Adept lathe) has been modified to fit
- Mandrel faceplate & centring device
- 3-jaw chuck (in poor condition)
- Tailstock drill chuck
This is quite a rare old lathe but in a generally very good and useable condition. The headstock bearings are very smooth and the bed is in super condition. The wooden countershaft pulley and the 3-jaw chuck are damaged but easily replaced.
